Alfredo Collado

Argentine sculptor

 

Alfredo Collado is a rising artist, born in Buenos Aires in 1957, who transmits feelings through his works, with a strong esthetic sense, maintaining an intense communication with the observer.

 

With meditative style, Collado fundaments his art on the human figure, in some ways abstracted and actual.  In his works, smooth and rough surfaces are combined, contrasting lines and curves.

The artist has received prizes and distinctions in Argentina and his art pieces are present in private collections from Argentina, Germany, England, Spain, United States, Mexico, Switzeland, Italy, Uganda and Australia.

 

Collado is member of the Argentine Artists Society, the Argentine Association of Sculptor Artists and forms part of the Directive Board of the San Isidro Artists Association.

The artist is author of the image of the “ Virgin of the Mooring Ropes”, located at the Arana Channel, at Tigre’s Delta Islands (2002) and of the “Monument to the Work Dog”, inaugurated at Roca Park, Buenos Aires city (2004).

His work “Icaro’s Flight” has been incorporated to the Miami’s Latinoamerican Art Museum in 2001 and “Man of the Moon” was added to Cuenca’s Modern Art Museum, Ecuador, in occasion of the 25th anniversary of the creation of the museum, on February 17th, 2006.

“Dance of the Oschiri Moon” was incorporated to the Oschiri City Hall’s art collection, Italy, in May 2008.

Numerous art works by Collado have been published in the Argentine Art Yearbook in 2006, 2007,2008 and 2009 and also in the 15th Latinoamerican Art Yearbook. “Moonlight” was included in the Argentine Association of Sculptor Artists’ 50th Anniversary Book.

“Homeless boy’s tears” will be published in the 16th  Latinoamerican Art Yearbook  in its 2010 issue and other works will appear in the Argentine Artists Society 85th Anniversary Book.

Collado is participating in the AAF Fair in New York 2010 (Buenos Aires Open Art).

 

The artist has integrated the jury of the Annual San Isidro Artists Association Exhibition and his works arte constantly taking part of several events and art shows, supporting and collaborating with diverse local institutions of public interest.
